I can't even make comparisons between my first delivery in the hospital and my second at home with Kasie! We birthed our second in a pool in our bedroom! Kasie was amazing and made me so comfortable and confident in my body's abilities. Being asleep in our own bed within about an hour after giving birth was amazing! Best experience EVER! We can never thank you enough, Kasie!
The BEST! We adored Jenee and have been greatly appreciative of her expertise and just who she is as a person. We had previously interviewed other midwives and none compared. We even started to work with another one prior and found Jenee and switched. We highly recommend her and we will have all of our children in the future with her--Dara

I am mommy to 6 children, 4 from my body and 2 that I have the pleasure of helping to raise and love. My first child (now 12 years old) was born in the hospital, it was an un-medicated birth and everything was fine but it just felt like something was wrong or incomplete. When I got pregnant for the second time, I found a midwife. This decision changed everything! My midwife was awesome, and I knew from the second my son was born that THIS was what I was meant to do for the rest of my life! Since becoming a midwife I went on to have 2 more home births assisted my midwife (and closest friend) and delivered into my husbands hands.
I was born and raised in Wichita Falls, Texas, and have had the pleasure of serving that area for the past 4 years. My home town will be missed, but when I got the offer to join the AMAZING team at the Dallas Birth Center, I couldn’t say no! So here I am, new to the city and ready to become a part of this awesome, midwife friendly, birth community!!

The tender, loving care I received during both of my pregnancies was amazing! It was calm & private & I still tell everyone I know what an amazing experience it was. Thank you Kasie McElhaney! You are the best!
Jenee's vast experience both personal and professional in the realms of womanhood, motherhood, and midwifery are absolutely priceless. Her professionalism in any situation will blow you away. If you are looking for the easiest person to share with as well as the shrewdest bulldog to fight for the experience you wish to have with the flexibility and love to cushion any unknown twists and turns your journey may take, Jenee is the one!!!!--Mandy

I am a mother of six from the ages of 30 to 11 year old twins. I have felt a deep connection to birthing women my entire life. My becoming a midwife is the culmination of over 20 years of dreaming and patience, while I raised my own family. I feel every birth is a sacred rite of passage, for you and your baby. In my care your wishes and desires will be respected while your health and the welfare of your baby will be safely guarded. I believe in the midwifery model of care, and most importantly, I believe in relationship-based care.
I have home educated my children for most of the last 27 years. I am an active member of Fort Worth Presbyterian Church, an amazing church that loves Jesus. In my spare time I love to read, visit tearooms and antique malls, quilt and garden. When I'm not at the birth center, I can be found on the sidelines cheering one of my teens, or snuggling up, reading to my dear ones.
Jenee is a former nursing student, a former EMT with emergency room experience, a former medical and dental assistant, has worked as an in-hospital doula as well as a CNA on the postpartum floor and in the newborn nursery of a hospital. She is also an approved preceptor for training midwife students.
Jenee holds prenatal visits at the Dallas Birth Center or in Coppell/Fort Worth.

I am a blessed wife to a very supportive husband who was born deaf, and together we have brought 5 wonderful children into this world - including a set of twins. I had many different but rewarding birth experiences with each one of them (including an emergency C-section & successful VBAC), largely due to the respectful and loving care team that surrounded us at each birth.
For over a decade, I've had the privilege of supporting women as a certified Birth & Postpartum Doula - and specialized in doula support for deaf mothers and families with special needs. I am also a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator and feel strongly that evidence-based childbirth education is a crucial element in achieving an empowering birth experience. I am currently working toward completing the qualifications to assist births at the Dallas Birth Center.
It has been an honor to be a part of the Dallas Birth Center from its inception, and to work together with an incredibly warm-hearted team of supportive, professional, and knowledgeable care providers, educators, and staff. Their dedication and tenderness has created a special environment, where midwives become your friends & staff becomes your family. What a blessing it is to wake up and be excited to go to work each day!
So give us a call at the Dallas Birth Center...I'll most likely be the welcoming voice at the other end of the line.
Kristine is a sweet, caring, and kind hearted midwife! She not only takes great care of me during my pregnancy, but allows my 2 younger boys to participate and get involved in what is going on at all of my appointments. I love how passionate she is about helping you in every way possible throughout your journey until your baby is in your arms! I will definitely use her again if the time comes.--Danielle

Kristine is absolutely amazing! I've had six babies, and my last, attended by Kristine, was the FIRST time I felt like I actually GAVE BIRTH. I first met her at a birth meeting where she was speaking about VBAC. Her passion for birth and her deep belief in the ability of a woman's body were exactly what I needed...I went home and told my husband she would attend our next birth. One month later we found out we were expecting again (a BIG surprise to us!). Prenatal appointments were whole-woman visits, where she got to know me (and me her) as a person. not a number. When it came time for labor, she knew just what to say, when to say it, and when to step in and help usher my sweet little (big 10b 8oz) baby to the world. I wouldn't change a single thing about that birth, and I would hire her again in a heartbeat!-Lyndsey
Kristy is the most kind, caring and supportive woman and midwife you could ever hope to meet. Never once did I feel rushed or brushed off and she spent as much time as needed with me, helping me understand everything that was going on and any procedures I had the option to have. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough!! We LOVE our midwife!-Leslie
Many years ago, when my first child was born, I had no idea that modern midwives existed. The idea that there were options and choices of care providers or birth places did not even occur to me. When he was still very small, I happened to meet a student midwife and that chance encounter changed the course of my life forever. After she told me a little about her experiences as a midwife’s apprentice, I went directly to the bookstore and bought the only two books they had on midwifery (Heart and Hands and Spiritual Midwifery) and dove in headfirst. Before I had finished them, I was in love and that was that. I knew I had to become a midwife.
It took time. First I had my next baby, and the fact that she was a planned home birth turned hospital transport did nothing to dampen my enthusiasm. Shortly after her birth, I attended doula training and began supporting a small number of women in birth at a variety of settings. After my third birth, I knew it was time to begin my adventures in midwifery. In 2005 I enrolled in a midwifery training program, and in 2006 I began attending births as a student midwife. And haven’t looked back since.

I am a wife & mother of 5, all naturally born - 3 of them at home into the hands of midwives. I consider it a privilege to be a licensed midwife in the State of Texas & owner of the Dallas Birth Center. I believe in a mothers ability to give birth and respect the process of birth. I believe that midwives are the guardians of normal birth for low risk women and work hard to make sure the mothers in my care have safe, healthy pregnancies and powerful, restorative births.
I started out my journey as a DONA certified birth doula in 2003 until I began midwifery training in 2009. I received my academic education through the Association of Texas Midwives Midwifery Training Program . I was in an active apprenticeship with 4 different midwives & one Dallas birth center where the art of midwifery care was passed to me by some of the best midwives around!
I graduated from ATM in September of 2011 and received my license in early 2012. I am a Texas Licensed Midwife (LM) and I hold a national credential Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) through the North American registry of Midwives. I decided to give back to the school I attended and am an approved preceptor for students/interns and grade coursework for new students. I am also an active member of the North Texas Midwives organization.
